It’s easy for patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) or exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) to incorporate Encala into their diet
Encala is clinically proven to be safe and well-tolerated in patients with CF.1 It is gluten free, non-GMO, entirely plant-based, and has no added sugars. Encala is a medical food recommended for use with your medical supervision, in adults and children over one year of age who have transitioned to toddler or family table food. Encala shouldn’t be used with infant formula or breast milk.
Recommending Encala:
Clinical studies in people with CF used 2 servings per day for patients under 12 and 3 servings for patients 12 and older.
The daily dose you recommend for your patients should be based on their growth and weight gain goals.
While not tested in clinical trials, we believe more than 3 servings will be well-tolerated.
Counsel your patients to take their daily recommended dose of Encala by spreading it across all meals, snacks, and beverages. Have your patients focus on their daily goal amount over the course of a day, even using a half or quarter serving in a snack or beverage will add fat absorption benefits and count toward their daily total.
