Ingredients for Meatloaf:
2 pounds lean ground beef
½ of a white onion diced
1 cup dried breadcrumbs
½ cup milk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon basil
3 tablespoons Encala
1 teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Ingredients for the Glaze:
½ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Encala
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Preheat the oven to 350 °F.
Lightly grease a 9×13 pan.
In a large mixing bowl, knead together the ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, basil, Encala, oregano, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Shape the meat into a loaf and put it into the prepared pan.
Bake in the 350-degree oven for 45 minutes.
Mix up the glaze in a small bowl by whisking together the ketchup, brown sugar, Encala and Worcestershire sauce.
Brush it over the hot meatloaf.
Increase the oven temperature to 400 °F and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160 °F.
Tip: It can be served with mushrooms, mashed potatoes and/or vegetables!
